Hi Im Melissa, single mom to Madison(9-6-00) and we live in Mid-michigan(near saginaw). I am a beginner at homeschooling, my sister hs her 4 children and is my main support here. I am doing basic reveiw with my daughter this year and will begin Kindy work with her hoping to implement 1st grade by the first of the year. I work part time as a Unit Secretary for a local Hospital and love the flexability HS will allow us. Anyways, great to find this board..I love looking for new ideas to help us along.

Hi Melissa! I'm a Melissa also, but I go by Missy. I also have a child born in 2000. I hs my two children, ages 9 and 5. We've been homeschooling for 3 years and I love it. Happy you are here with us!

My youngest dd was born 10-14-00 (I have 4 kids)

Hi, welcome. I'm a grandma homeschooling my 11 year old grandson (whom we adopted). We have been hs for 6 years. I really enjoy this site. The people here are very encouraging and ready to jump in when you have a question or problem.

YEA! anothe single mom..Im not the "loaner" on a board for once. HOw old is Sami? I am going to implement 1st grade work by the first of the year..just working on getting there right now. I currently have the learn at home K and 1st grade currc. sets so Im glad I can just add them in as we go.

Sami is 4 she will turn 5 in October. We have a mixture of diffrent curriculums. I believe there is anothe single mom on here too. so we aren't alone. :)

Hi Melissa! Nice to meet you. I'm new here and will be hsing my 5 & 7 y/o in the fall.
I worked as a nurse in a hospital for 8 years and we valued our unit secretaries! What a demanding job! Glad to hear of your family support. Welcome!
