Hi, I have been homeschooling my 6 year old daughter since January. My husband travels extensively Jan to June. We live primarily in OKC, but we also spend time in Eufaula in order to see him more. I have delayed searching for any homeschool groups because of this. I would really like to find other homeschool families and give my daughter the opportunity to enjoy more group activities. How do I find groups in my area/s?

When we moved to our current location, I did an internet search and found a local group. Also, curriculum fairs usually take place in the summer. You may be able to fiind out something at one of them. I'm sure there are several in OKC. Good luck, and welcome to the homeschool spot.
BTW, I'm Pam. I have 4 kids (2,4 (5 in 2 weeks), 7, and 10). This is our 2nd year to homeschool.

I understand where you're coming from. For several months my dh was traveling and we really wanted to go with him. I decided to miss out on the traveling and go ahead and enroll my dd into some classes. We take classes at a local homeschool facility and also karate. If you met with a group you could skip the classes and just go to meetings or on field trips if possible. This way you get to know the people and could make a few friends to talk to and meet with on the side.
I homeschool my 2 kids in GA! My dd is 9 and ds is 5! Welcome to The Homeschool Spot!
