:?: Hi Gals and thank you. But the question I have is how do you know your teaching the right thing and that your on track with all that needs to be taught? I'm so afraid that I will miss out on something that she needs! And how do you keep the child's attention? HELP !! LOL..
I want this to be so meaningful for her and I and I want her to get the most out of this, Please someone steer me in the right path.
Thank you so very much, Heather

Welcome Heather. My name is Kris I have been homeschooling in sunny Texas for 5 years. I have two daughters ages 13 and 11. We have days but who don't. Mostly it rewarding and lots of fun.
Heather what books are you using for her? You said she is five well there's nothing you can do wrong at that age. There is so much out there on the net that is free to download like papers and stuff. Read to her, have her read to you. You will do just fine.

I was worried about making sure I didn't leave things out too so I got a copy of the Core Knowledge Scope and sequence. I found out I was not ovnly not leaving stuff out we were ahead of the game. also if you can't find that every state has standards the public school uses so you can just check to see. I like Floridas website cause it's ewasy to look them up and you can save lesson plans if you feel like it (it's also free weher the book isn't) http://www.ibinder.uwf.edu/steps/
But like Kris said.. with the small ones it's really tough to make a big mistake. They are so curious and want to figure it all out on their own at that age anyhow.
Welcome to Homeschool spot! I have one daughter and two girls I watch 12 hours a day so I feel like i have 3 girls!
