Hello!
Okay, I am new to this whole idea of message board stuff. This is awesome and so far i think I will be visiting this thing nearly daily!
I have been home teaching for 9 years, have 3 children, 8-12-14.
I am currently teaching the younger two as my in-laws decided to help us out and get my son a tuition cut at a private school. So we are schooling highschool and half price on our end. It is so sad that a good education has to cost so much money these days.

I am also a writer, Bible Study teacher/leader and women's ministry leader. So my plate is full.
I teach my children in 8 yr old- 3rd grade math, science, lang Arts, History and Geo. and 4th grade Bible.
My 12 yr old is in mostly 7th and then 8th grade science and Bible. She is nearly done with her 7th books and had been two years ahead up to last year when I slacked on her in order to help my then 8th grade oldest with his Algerbra, and fill in some spaces we had missed with him.
It was stressful to say the least! Since she was the one ahead, she got to be the one to skip some days in Math and History. She plans to catch up over the summer and be in 9th grade by sometime this fall.
She will be doing home school for 9th at this point, and possibly joining her brother in 10th grade at the private school.
My Youngest is doing great as home school child, he has been a handful up to this year but is bright too.
I see him settling down and he is enjoying learning Multiplication so far much more fun than subraction he says!
Okay, so did I say I was a writer? Sorry if this is too long!
Nice to meet you all! So far you seem like a great bunch of folks!
Be blessed today!

I'm Jen.
I have twin 5 year olds and a three year old.
Boys went to Public Kindergarten, til march 2006, then totaly home..

We are sort-of new to homeschooling, as this is the first time we are "Officially" homeschooling. But we have been "Playing" homeschool for a while.

We have a few workbooks, but mostly we are library nerds and their ages lend itself to not needing major text books.

Anyway, I am here WAAAY too much and tend to be rough on the edges, but I mean well!

Welcome in and let's see what we can do to learn from each other and make each other laugh!

Nice to meet you - hope you liek it here

Hi, I'm Jackie from Central Ohio. I'm finishing up year seven with DD11, DD(almost 10), and DS6. I'm curious what you write. Fiction or non-fiction? What are the chances of any of us having read your stuff?

Hi, Teresa! My daughters are almost 5 and 2.5, so I haven't officially started homeschooling yet. We're excited about starting in the fall. :D I'm an old friend of Jackie's and I'm glad she told me about this place. :)

Jackie asked what I write, I have a Devotional that has been locally (self) published ... and we are actually in our third printing for, I have sold them primarily though word of mouth, the internet and when I speak at retreats and such.
My husband is my editor and he is reformating our cover and then I can let you know when it will be available on Amazon.com etc.
I also have been writing Bible studies for years, also self published these as used at churches both here and one in Ohio. My friend there bought a few to use with her study group. I have Devotionals that I send out weekly online via email and though they are a couple pages long people seem to be blessed by them. I know the Lord is working through them for sure!
I had about 7 books some fiction some non-fiction ( bible studies, biographies etc) that were in process of being accepted when my computor malfunctioned and ate them all. It took me a year of morning ( I kid you not, they were like my babies... a lot of hard work was distroyed because our backup did not work properly.) so I have since been rebuilding my chapters to send out again.
I am currenly a Ghost Writer for a gal at church, and working on a fiction novel series as well. I am very excited it as the Lord totally gave me the outline for the whole series while I waited for my son at his youth group one night.
Well, you asked for it ( grin)... I have a habit of running on at the keyboard ehe... blush even.
Thanks for asking!
Be blessed!

Teresa, pull up a chair! You said your plate was full - so WHY did you add a forum? :) My plate was full, too and I started blogging and joined a few forums for an outlet. I am home alot. I have also found that it takes away from things I should be doing. Shame on me! I love it though. I have cut back a little lately. Glad to have you on board. I am a Christian homeschooling grandma.

I actually signed up because I have questions about differnt things, as in teaching certain subjects, and curriculium stuff... always trying to do a better job than I am doing at it.
I will probably slow down at this in a week or so after I have gotten the hang of how things work, but it was a much needed "Something Different" in my day! Thanks for asking even if it was retorical.
