Hello from Indiana! I am a first year homeschooling mom of 2 (Zach, 11 and Lindsey, 9) So far, we are completely enjoying the process! Not that we don't have our moments, but over all, no regrets and lots of joy! I am looking forward to meeting all the great ladies on this forum...everyone seems so nice and personable! I come from a small city that doesn't have a co-op of any sort, so I am on my own! I really need some ladies to chat with when things come up!

Blessings,

Leslie

Leslie, Welcome, I'm Ohio Grandma and hs my 11 yo gs. We have hs from K - 5th grade. We have had our moments too, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Enjoy the hs spot, I have. Everyone is just great and so willing to help with questions and to pray when needed. I just think alot of them all and consider them my hs friends.

Leslie:

Welcome. I too am in Indiana and this is also our first year homeschooling. I have a ds (9) and dd (8). We too have our bad days but we're working through them, finding what works for us.

Where in IN are you? You mentioned that your area had no co-ops. You may want to try the Indiana Home Educators Network to look for local groups: http://www.ihen.org/default_portal.htm

Click on the county link at the right to find possible groups in your area.

Thanks to all of you for making me feel so welcome. It is great being here, and I can't wait to get to know you all better.

Carol, I am from Muncie. They used to have a pretty good co-op in years past from what I have heard, but they decided this year to ot meet (I don't know why). I got info at the public library hoping to find SOMEONE to connect with, but all the numbers were disconnected and websites were no longer being used. SO, I am so thankful to have found this site!

Jackie, I grew up in Toledo, and still have a soft spot for the Buckeye state!!

HS G'ma, hearing you call these gals your hs friends is so great! That is exactly what I am looking for!

I have read alot of posts that you all have made and look forward to the insight you have to offer!!

Blessings!

Leslie

Leslie,
Before we moved here, I went to church with a couple who were from Muncie. They were a homeschooling family, too. I remember them talking about it being a small town. One of my best friends is from Indiana, too (around Anderson, but I can't remember the name of the city right now). Small world!

Welcome to the boards. You'll love it here!

I'm thinking Ava Rose is in the Toledo area. I graduated from Bowling Green, so I'm familiar with the Toledo area.

I'm sorry I can't help you with any groups in Muncie. I'm in northwest Indiana (Valpo) and just recently found a great homeschool group locally. We don't have any co-ops yet but are planning some for next year. If you have the time and energy, could you start one of your own? I'm sure there would be interested families, given the size of Muncie.

Thanks, INmom. I am not sure I am up for starting my own at this point. But it's an idea for a later time, after I get some hs experience in!

Have a great day!

I KNOW VALPO!!! I had friends go to college there many years ago. Several friends moved to the Chicago suburbs, and we would drive right past Valpo, so I stopped once to look someone up. My cousin got married not far from there!
