Easy Grammer/Writing Strands--Which levels to choose?

:? Hi All,
I am considering Easy Grammer and Writing Strands as part of my Language Arts program for 5th grade. Here lies my problem. In looking up the Easy Grammer in the Rainbow Resource Catalog, there is an overlap of grades. We haven't done a lot with grammer before, just some here and there (used Shurley English for a while in 4th grade until we reached burn out) Should I start with the 4th 5th version of Easy Grammer or the 5th 6th? I am very confused with which level of Writing Strands to start with also. Again, we haven't done a lot of writing. I am thinking level 2 or 3 to start with. I thought the description in RR catalog was a bit confusing, but then again, that could just be me and my deciphering abilities late at night. :) Any help will be wonderful!! Thanks so much!

:D I have it all figured out! When in doubt, call the companies or go to their website, or both.

I would consider starting with either Level 2 or 3.
Level 3 is where I am starting, but am tempted to start with 2.
You may also be interested in Winston Grammar.
It is ideal for those who want to bring kids up to speed.

I'll have to look that one up. It's one I haven't heard of before. I think I am starting with 3. It was what was suggested by the company. Am also tempted to start or at least order 2 also, just because. Thanks for your reply :)

Well, I went to the workshop today (which, I'm sorry to say was BORING and I could have got just as much info from reading the lessons myself, but that's because the person suppose to be presenting had a medical emergency, and someone filled in for him at the last minute!). After listening, I've decided to start my middle one (age 8) at Level 2, and my oldest (age 10) at Level 3.

Thanks for the info. No conferences in my area until the end of August, believe it or not. Kinda late in my opinion to be having a conference. I hope to have my stuff all decided before then if at all possible. Sorry you had to endure a boring presentation. But glad you got it figured out anyway! :)
