Ok, when choosing a screenname, I just choose the name I wanted for my daughter but my husband disapproved. After the computer accepted it, I realized that was a bad idea. but I don't know how to change that. My name is not Ava. I figured, it's just a screen name, you can pick anything. but I feel like I have lied about my name. I am such a dork. My name is Richele. Someone let me know how to change this....please. Or just call me Ava, I do like that name. lol. I really didn't want to come clean because I felt so stupid. but I feel worse if I didn't. I wasn't trying to lie. I just wanted a cute screen name. Sorry.

Its ok, most of the names you see are peoples real name, but in some cases they didn't want their identity out there in public. However if you really want to change the screen name, contact AMANDA she is the one that can help you. find a post with her screen name and then click on it and then click send private message.

Your welcome Richele (I love the spelling of your name)

I never stop spelling it. It is such an unusual spelling, that I am always spelling my name for people. Oh well, keeps me memorable. :) My mom got the name from a novel she read as a teenager.

Thanks!

Richele...Ava...whoever you are, LOL! My screen name is Mom2ampm and down at the bottom where my signature is you'll find my name. You can change your signature I do believe.

It doesn't matter what you call yourself, if you want others to know who you are, just create a signature with your real name and they will know it.

I never use my real name on the Internet. Never have, never will. I'm a security freak. I probably go way overboard on caution, but that's the only way I'm comfortable. I never think of anyone's user name as a "lie." I prefer to think of it as a secure online persona.

Besides, out there in cyberspace at any one time there are probably 800 Huberts logged on as "Jessica."

I often use "Sprite", but didn't sign up that way when I first came on here. Ava (Richele), my daughter's name is Faythe. That's an unusual spelling! I knew a kid at my school who spelled it like that, and really liked it.

I am on a couple of adoption forums and alot of people have screen names that aren't their personal names. Don't feel like a liar!

Northwriter is probably right about the 800 Huberts signed up as Jessica. Normally, I would never use my real name. Even when signing up for freebies I use a fake name. But when I got on here everyone seemed so nice and down to earth...and most used what seemed to be like real names. I used to be on a message board years ago where everyone appeared to be using real names. I guess it was stupid of me to even admit to it. lol!

I think we're real nice and down to earth, too, but keep in mind that we are NOT a "closed forum". Anyone can come on and lurk. It's THEM we're concerned about, not those that join up.

I agree with Jackie it's not who joins we worry about it's those that come and read and leave.
Any way don't feel back and welcome its a wonderful board.

Very true. Pretty scary to think of the lurkers out there.
