I am new to HSspot. I have checked here for info often in the past few months and decided to join. I have been homeschooling for 3 years now. Two children 11 yr. old boy and 8 yr. old girl. I love it, love it, love it.
We are full-time RVers and travel about 8 months out of the year on the road. So, I like to say we "roadschool."

Spending this time with my family is amazing, and being in control of their education is awesome too.

Anyway, glad to be here. Hope to learn lot's from y'all. :)

Full-time RV'ers!!! How does that work out? I love camping, but don't think I could do that with kids! I'd love to hear more about your lifestyle!

I'm Jackie. My girls are 11 and 9, and my son is 6. We're in our 7th year of HS'ing.

We still own a home in GA and use that as our home base. Oficially we are GA home schoolers. We have a 40 ft. 5th wheel RV with bunk beds and the kids LOVE traveling. We have been to 20 states so far and would like to see 49 at least. Husband works on the road, which began our traveling.

Rving and camping are not one and the same. We have all the comforts everyone else has. And some most people don't.

Anyway, I'm happy to be here and answer an questions at all.

Well, you two, since you're on the road maybe you can join us in Philly next summer!!! You'll see plenty of states between wherever you are and Philly!

Hey Kris! Glad to find another "road schooler." I haven't run into too many full-timing families. We are in FL at the moment, but will be heading back to GA in March for 3 weeks.

As I'm new, don't know about Philly, but I'll keep an eye out here for info.

Timkelmom, check out the King Tut thread! King Tut's treasures will be in Philadelphia next year (2007) and we're trying to get a group together to see it.

Tinklemom, welcome, I am new too. I have hs my grandson for 5 1/2 years now. I always wanted to RV across the country too, but my husband said no. He has 2 years to retire, maybe then.

Hello, I am Trish. I also live in South Carolina. Do you live near the SC line. I live in a little town called Pickens. We aren't far from the GA line.

I would love to hit the road. That is my dream.

Hey Lorna!

Just curious where you are in SC. My parents live in Beaufort (that's where I moved to CO from). We'll be there in April/May.

Trish, another fellow southerner! What a small world!

Angie, I can answer for Lorna because she lives about 2 miles from me. We both live in Pickens. That is about 100 miles from Columbia the capital. Beaufort is down state from us.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. My name is Kim, BTW.
Ohiograndma, bless you for taking on the task of raising your grandson. It sounds challenging at times, but rewarding nonetheless.
Trish, my town in GA is Cumming, it is in the northern part of the state, so not too far from the SC border.

Nice to "meet" you all.
