I know, small pet peeve compared to some of the annoying things our husbands can do, but...it's one thing I've really noticed since I've been on modified bed rest and he's had to take over most of the household chores. (Don't get me started on the quality of his work regarding the other chores...LOL)

Every time, the man tries to pack in two loads' worth of clothes into one! And I've told him, countless times, that it doesn't save time, money or energy because nothing gets clean enough if it doesn't have room to move around! It really gags me when he does this with socks and underwear. :o

But you can't tell the man anything. (Side note: anyone else notice that the older our men get, the more stubborn they are? I swear I see him morphing into a grumpy old man before my eyes.)

Vent over.

Tell him that overloading the machine like that will break it. It works the motor, and the motor will fry. He might not care about how clean the clothes are, but he might care about having to pay to fix or replace the washer.:)

I'm not sure my dh even knows where the washing machine is:D....... Nah.....kidding.....We just came to the agreement that for the sake of peace, he should just let me or one of the girls do the laundry.

Now, don't even get me started on the time I came home and my MIL had come over and had decided SHE should do my laundry. LOL

My husband had to care for his home and his two girls after his wife died. He is a fabulous cook and loves doing it. I also cook but since work has slowed down, he cooks a lot these days. He also washes dishes. Although I sometimes run them through an extra time. LOL ;)

He doesn't over load the laundry at all. In fact, he can't stand loads of laundry sitting around so he is in the habit of washing before the loads get to big. I am the one who tends to overload from time to time.

Your dh loads the washing machine??? I'm sure my dh knows where it is.

LOL...my dh is awesome...he will load the washing machine but rarely. He works sometimes 16 hours a day...so I take care of it or my kids do.

My dh knows where it is but he says it's too complicated (we got new frontloaders a year ago) He claims it looks like an mp3 player and he doesn't want to mess anything up. He HATES laundry piled everywhere but he won't do laundry....hmmm....he does make up for it by cooking most nights and helping around the house without being asked.

In our house, it's like the widow's jar always being full of oil. Every day, I go to the drawer and clean clothes are there! It's quite amazing. I'll have to ask my wife about it.

we have a laundry basket at the end of the hallway for the kids clothes, (when they get there) and that pile is always high.......... we do at least 2 loads a day. Its not the washing its the putting away that gets bad though.

YUP DH overloads the washer all the time! So now if I want him to start a load I put the clothes by the washer and ask him to wash only those clothes. He's great at dishes though and washes them for me every night!

Greg won't touch the new front loader we have. I do have to admit I am one who tends to over load. With 8 kids at home I just want to hurry it along sometimes LOL.

What's a washing machine?

Steve it's that pretty square thing that sits next to another pretty square thing that has knobs on it, when it is done working (along with your wife) it will burp out clean clothes JUST FOR YOU.:lol:Commonly known as the Clothes Fairy!

If your dh is overloading the washer at least he knows WHAT a washer is and WHERE it is located!

Has he asked, "And why don't we mix the towels with the sheets"?:roll:

My oldest son learned quite quickly not to mix colors. On one occasion, he included a friend's white T-shirt with a red load and had to explain later to his macho friend why he now had a pink shirt. :)

You guys are so funny!

Trust me: the only reason he's doing laundry is because I'm too preggo to carry it through the house, and bending over to get it in and out of our old-school dryer kills my lower back at the moment.

He enjoys whining to our friends and family about how how his wife USED to do his laundry and USED to make his lunches. Poor baby. He has such an awful life.

My dh knows where the washer and dryer is. He also knows how to fold them up and put them away. He will do that on occassion when I ask him. My ds also knows all about it, too. He don't like to do laundry, but if his clothes get out of hand and they are inside out, he does his own.

Pink t-shirts - does your son's friend have a sister? lol

Baby will come soon and you will be back at it with more clothes. Enjoy it while you can, at least they have been swished around in some water and dryed. lol

My dh has done his own laundry since the day we moved in together when we were still dating and had a baby. By his choice. Our older girls do their laundry and I do mine and my ds who's 4 and he'll eventually learn how to do his own laundry. Right now his big thing is to be the one to take it off the line. But forgets to put the pins in the bucket so we go searching through the yard for the pins. But at least he's trying.

LOL, I've overloaded the washer many times. Too much laundry around here. I've been behind on laundry for 5 years! Dh does laundry too. If he needs something washed or if he notices the boys need clothes he will wash some. He doesn't fold though.
