Who is ending their school year soon? Our last day is Friday. However, we will be doing light work over the summer like worksheet, computer work, reading activities.
Anyone else getting close?

We're finished our official 180 Days. But we've kept going.
Our testing/evals are on Friday, so I think starting next week we'll slow down to our summer schedule (reading, math, finishing our butterfly science & starting our science club stuff).
My problem is, I can't start counting for the new year until July 1! WAAAH! :D
But, yes, we're almost "done".

We are done.
I am still fitting in some school work here and there and adding it to the 2008-2009 school year.
Ems will probably take a complete break from June through early July, then we will start up again.

It's nice to hear that a few of us are wrapping up our year. The only thing I need to do some time this summer is testing. In GA they have to be tested every 3 years, so this is a testing year.
I know my two are looking forward to their summer work. It means a lighter load and more fun stuff.

I am going to have Ems tested this coming school year. We aren't required to test but I had her test from K-4 then stopped. I would like to see where she is once again.

we are technically done on June 5th, but we plan on studying Latin, Spanish, and math over the summer! Plus doing a LOT of art!
We aren't technically done yet, but we are taking a break for a few weeks.
MIL passed away last week, and we weren't getting anything done. So I called Summer Break early. We will start next year sometimes around the 1st of July.

We're just going to keep going. I find we have days and even weeks where "school work" gets lost in the shuffle anyway so I've decided to just go with the flow and keep school work going through out the year. Of course it helps that I'm relaxing quite a bit with it.

Samantha will be officially done homeschoooling next Friday May 29th and will be going to public junior high in August. She and I are both so excited!
Grace and I are going to begin a full first grade plan starting the second week in June. That is when I don't babysit anymore and we are going to go full force and we are both very excited! We plan to do school work in the morning and then go play at the pool in the afternoon.

We are finishing up the school year in mid-June. We've taken more breaks than usual this year, so we're going a little longer. We've finished science. DD7 has finished math. DD10 has finished grammar. We're just finishing up all the loose ends. I do plan to try a modified summer schedule.

We finish up our studies middle of June but I am so DONE with this year. In Arizona it was HOT this time of year so schooling through the summer was not a problem. Here in Alaska though it is beautiful this time of year. I know soon it will be dark and cold. I want to just be done and go enjoy the sunshine while I can. We are pludging through. Collin Graduates in 6 years and I am so afraid of not having enough time to get everything he needs to learn in before then.

I suppose technically we finished up back in February, but we didn't really stop. We are still practicing and learning because they are enjoying themselves so much. Our new year will begin probably in August instead of June since the new baby is due in June.

Sounds like us here. We're "officially" done Friday, but also are doing what can be called "light work" over the summer. Each kids has about a dozen 4-H projects to complete (stuff like drawing, forestry, geology, electricity, creative writing) that can be counted as school work. Then each is going to a couple of educational camps: dd - electric camp and environmental camp at the Dunes, ds - 4-H camp and the environmental camp. We'll also continue with our Rosetta Stone Spanish and they always participate in various reading programs--library, Barnes and Noble, etc.

I think that is a great idea. It's always good to know how they are doing. I know some kids can have trouble testing, but it is a good place to see where there problem areas are.

I agree, big break can be difficult for us too. I know several people who do year-round school.

Let's see, sd finishes up Chemistry on the 30th, English should be done by 6/5, home ec. by 6/12, Math by 6/23, Latin by 6/23 and then History by 7/15 (argh). I am hoping that once sd finishes some of the other work she will catch up on History but I do not have a good feeling about it.

We finished up at the end of April. May is our month break, then we'll start again June 1st. We're spending the month working on the house. We did some rearranging & brought everything home from storage & I haven't had a chance to get it all put away & organized yet. So, we're taking care of that this month. I've already got next year planned & our materials are all here. I just need to finish making a few things for the topics that I couldn't find materials for.

We finish tomorrow (Friday 5/22). We'll do some "light school" during the summer and start back full force late July/early August.

Tomorrow is our last day officially. We have been done with everything since yesterday but we are finding a few things to finish up to get all our days in. I am so ready for the break and so are the girls. We won't do a lot this summer because I always say we will and then we get busy/lazy and don't do anything. This year I am saying we won't do any work and who knows, maybe we will. At this point I just want a break. Allergies have zapped my energy this Spring and I am just worn out. My sister opens her pool on Monday and I am so ready for it. It just needs to get a little warmer here.

Today is our last day. We will be on a light schedule for the summer...I am hoping to get in 2 days a week. I am going to make up "plans" to cover 2 days and the boys can do them through out the week. We only have to count days here, so we will just date our 180 days.
We got both the girls graduated...but now we still have the wedding for dd#1 and dd#2 is going to Scotland on a mission trip. I quit my job, but still have to work through the middle of June.
I am going to have to do some soul searching on ME this summer.

I'm sure you'll get all caught up. I hope after you have completed everything you get a chance for a break.

A lazy summer sounds good to me. I wish we could, but we have done that the last 2 summers and I found that they lost a lot, plus we are a little behind this year, so I want to play catch up a but.
We'll probably only do a few days a week and then shorter hours.
I hope you see some relief from your allergies.

We will be taking a little break but not much. I plan to do light schooling(a little math, phonics) with dd(next year is her 1st year homeschooling fulltime) in July and then with sd we will be starting most classes in August. Sd graduates next year and we want her to be done by graduation (end of May/begining of June) so we talked about it and she agreed she should start some of her classes over the summer.

Our last day will be Friday, the 29th. We plan on starting back the middle of July. For the 5-6 weeks we are off, we'll be actually off for the most part. Other than just some free reading, maybe touching on math to keep it in his hard little head.... :)

Our last official day is Friday. We have been doing light work since we tested at the end of April. We probably won't do anything during the summer except some summer reading programs and maybe a field trip here and there.
