Is there anywhere I can assess DS's reading and math levels for free? Everything I bring up has a fee involved and DH just got laid off on Friday so paying for something is out the question right now.

You can always do some of the TAKS tests. They are long, so maybe just pick some from each grade for him to try...

How old his he? It depends on the age there is alot out there.

KRis is there anything other than the TAKS out there? My ds is 6th grade

He's 7 and in 1st grade but has been working at a 2nd grade level most of the year in school.

I went to the Saxon site they have various different ages there for free assessments, it is connected with the main ps retailers for math so I would trust it if I was assessing. I have to wait for my printer to get ink then I am going to use it for math and phonics!
