My 5 year old read her first Bob book last night!!! She was so excited she couldn't sit still. She had to get up and run to her dad for a High-5 a few times. I am so proud of her.

We tried to read it before we started Christmas break and she couldn't quite get it. But last night she really surprised me when she sounded out everything in the book.

This is a big boost in my confidence as a teacher. I REALLY can teach my kids something! I'm always worried about them not learning, but this proves that I can do it and that they are doing just fine!

WOO HOO! Congrats to your DD!

My DD loved the BOB books as they really gave her confidence and ours came with tapes (yeah, back in the days of cassettes) so she was able to hear the words and read along.

We've been calling everyone to tell them about her success! My relatives probably think we are nuts, but I am so proud of her.

We called the family when Ems started understanding math. I was so excited. I wanted people to see how wonderful she was doing as well as to see that homeschooling works.:D

I was so afraid that she was going to be compared to her cousins in public school. One of them is only 4 days older than my daughter. She is only reading because she WANTED to. I have NEVER pushed it on her. She is such a sweet and smart little lady. I Love her so much!

Yay! My 5 yr old is reading them too. I love these books, cause they are truly phonetic, they don't use tons of sight words. So a kid who reads cvc, consonant vowel consonant words such as cat, can actually read them.

Way to go!!! Bob books are very popular in our house too. I have added many more to our collection every time I go to the book store.

That's great!! The break through moments give me such a high. I always right them down in my journal for those not so wonderful days when I need a pick me up. Keep up the good work!
