I figured out how to get the smilies back so you don't feel left out on all the fun anymore :D

OK... go to your user control panel, edit options and then at the bottom of that screen there should be a box that says Message editor interface. It should give you the option of a 'drop box' (I don't know if that's they right word or not but it works for me). If you select Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing then save changes you should (when you go to post reply - not quick reply, be able to use your smilies again - it took me how long to clue in? WOW!

Happy smilies to you

8) I did it! plus something I asked amanda about yesterday, the time on my screen from when people would post was way off, she said change my time zone, i didn't really understand then, but i changed that too, I hope, because I never know what AZ time zone is. but it sould be better than having it set in europes time zone!:-? Thanks Brenda for all the instructions.

Not sure that's a good idea. I would guess that means Australia/New Zealand. What are the other options? I doubt it means Arizona time,

If you go to the top left of the main page, there should be a note that says User CP - click on that and then go to edit options... and then follow the directions from above

You don't have to go into the user control panel everytime you want something fancy in your post. Just type it out as usual, and then hit on Go Advanced to enhance it. Or, I think you can hit Go Advanced first, and type your message in there.

There are some tips already posted in the Questions and Tips forum:
http://www.homeschoolspot.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14

Check it out - The smilies question was one of the first ones posted. If you have other questions, we could post them there and keep them organized for future reference.

For some reason when I go to change colors or fonts they reset when I'm done.

Trish
10-04-2005, 06:22 PM
[color=blue] I want to see if I can change colors.

Jackie

TO CHANGE COLORS:

Go to the advanced reply.

You will see, between the font and the smiley face at the top, a letter "A" with a thick black line under it. Click on that, and then the little arrow next to it. That will open up lots of colors. Click on the color you want; you will notice the black line under the "A" is whatever color you picked. This means you will be writing in that color.

Even when I do all that, as I prepare to post it all resets!
I have changed fonts, colors, tried using italics, tried making the letters bolder, and it all resets!
It's irritating, so I gave up.

Trish

When I advanced mine is not showing all the those things. I am writing on it now. I guess I will just stay with one color.

Re-read Brenda's original post. She says something about ENHANCED INTERFACE. Did you do that? If not, try doing that first.

AMANDA...This is what was missing from your original post about the smileys. I was NOT able to access them using ONLY the instructions on your post because I didn't know about that "Enhanced Interface" change. You might want to add it to your original post.
