Well my oldest are 3rd graders (Today!!) so not sure...
Could help ya brain storm though...

I do know that there is a lapbooking yahoo group for grades 7 and up (Grades and ages are relative, of course, considering that we are homeschoolers.. so you might wanna check them out...) I am a member...

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Lapbooking7up/
This group will provide a forum for lapbooking for grade or year 7 - approx 12 years old and over. "High School" Lapbooks. International group.

Perhaps he can do a "Predictions" lapbook. The student lays out what he wants to learn for this school year, makes a mini book or flap book about his favorite books, maybe makes a picture flip book showing his favorite hobby with how it ties in with what he might be about to learn in history or science? Maybe a redictions lapbook about "Goals" for the upcoming school year? (Just brain stormin' here..)

YA Jen I knew you would have something good! HA! I love your site btw! , That is what I will do the Goals idea is supper!
Especially since we are doing Soccer for PE this fall!
I will have him design the cover with Soccer and "GOALS" for the coming school year!
I can have dd make her own, just for fun even though she is high school level she can do the younger stuff for fun too! THANKS SO Much I will check the link you put there out too but so far I am grabbing your brain storm idea!
I have thoughts of a Soccer ball heading towards a goal on the front... then inside he can use soccer balls for 'icons' or what to follow to find the goals he can write about... drawing pictures is great for him too he loves that sort of thing so great! WEEE HOO! NOW I am really getting excited .. helped to get curric ordered I feel I can focus a bit more on this stuff now too!
