Homeschooling Equals Educational Anarchy (http://www.dakotavoice.com/2008/06/homeschooling-equals-educational.html)

Home schooling labeled 'anarchy' (http://www.onenewsnow.com/Education/Default.aspx?id=129886)

Just love this part of it:
Dacus did a double-take when he read one specific charge made by the teachers' union. "In their brief, the teachers' union said that to allow parents to be able to home school without being credentialed teachers could result in 'educational anarchy,'" he shares.

That argument, he says, discounts reality. "This is ignoring the facts that home schooling is widespread in California," he exclaims. "Over 200,000 children are being home schooled right now in California -- and they score higher academically than not only public school children, but also children in traditional private schools. If there's anarchy, the anarchy is in public schools."

That's been going around blog circles. Some of us are even sporting "Educational Anarchist" graphics on our blogs now. What a gift from the CEA! :D

I love that idea - Educational Anarchy"! I think I'm going to make a poster of that for our hs area!!!!

To the point, it's funny that so many are against it are baby boomers, since they were the one to support political anarchy in the 60's. I had a hippie teacher in 12th grade who always wore a shirt that read "Questions Authority" -- funny how when homeschoolers do it, it's a BAD thing!!! :)

Ahh, you elusive creature, irony, you.

This is funny! I never thought of myself as a rebel by teaching my own kids Christian values and keeping them away from the zoo they call a public school system. Maybe I should print up a T-shirt now lol, educational anarchist LOL! Better yet, maybe I should get one of them biker jackets and have it printed on the back LOL!!!
