Hello friends!

How is everyone this week? What do you have planned? How many of you school through the summer? We do to a small extent (because I usually can find something interesting to do!)- but not Mon-Fri like during the school year.

We have our summer reading program kick off this week with the public library and we are all looking forward to that. The library has different people come and perform or speak- this week it's a clown show; one week is a reptile guy; one week is "creepy crawlies" etc.

I haven't weighed in weeks, but I am feeling better. We were able to get back to some walks, etc last week, and hope to do better with that this week. I bought a fresh pineapple this weekend- now just have to remember how to cut it up!!

Take care and I'll be back later to chat!
Drink your water and kiss your kids!

I still need prayers to get going, but I'm hoping this week goes better!

Thanks for keeping this going MT3!

Well, ladies, the reunion went super! I fit into some clothes that I hadn't been able to wear for two years, so that part was fun. Best of all, the friendship and Christian fellowship among us classmates just keeps gettin' better 'n better as the years go by! The skit wasn't the most fantabulous, but it was enhanced by a former teacher-coach showing up and obliging us by being interviewed, too. I had babysat his two children, and one of them was with him! I was "high" on the after-glow from the reunion for days.

Monday our first granddaughter was born. I think she's calling for me *smiling* so I'm hoping to plan a trip to Florida by my little own timid self sometime this summer, since crunch-time has arrived on the farm, and the others can't get away.

Then our state homeschool convention was last weekend, which dd (17) and I attended. Jay Wilie, the Apologia author, the Notgrass history authors, and other encouraging speakers and exhibitors and dd made it special. (Sighing--our last one, unless the Lord sends more children--laughing now! He won't!)

On the route home, I stopped in and gave my beloved mother another perm. We got to use the care-center's beauty shop, and we read Aesop's Fables during the timed intervals.

Now I'm trying to get back to "normal" and be good with my eating. No, I haven't had the courage to weigh for at least two weeks, either, MT3. Deena, it sounds like we can all pray for each other in this regard.

And, MT3, enjoy those kiddos and the clown shows, etc. The little ones grow up so fast!

I've gained weight. Last I weighed, I'd been up by 3lbs. This time I'm up by 2lbs. So in the last month, I've gained back 5 of the 34 lbs I'd lost. :(

SIL is making fun of me. Today I ate... a bowlful of pickles. (Okay. They are pickle spears, and it was probably the equivalent of one of those big, ballpark dill pickles. LOL Maybe a little more....) But then I wanted brownies. So SIL is giving me funny looks.

BUT, I have an IUD so I KNOW I'm not pregnant. (Plus, if gaining weight, eating funny things, and wanting dh to take an extra night off ;) are my only pregnancy symptoms, I will leap for joy! LOL) I'm sure it's just my week - it's the first week all the time anyway. (I don't have monthlies to know for sure, but it's always right around the first that I get my funny weirdnesses going on. LOL)

Anyway.

We're eating not-so-healthily this week because SIL and her dh bought groceries at the discount store. You get what you pay for, kwim? We'll head to Sam's next week, where we can get better quality stuff and I plan to wow them with how many people I can feed on how little money. ;) And, funny enough, I think BIL is looking forward to my cooking. DH finds that amusing....

Anyway. Part of our de-stressing involves getting us and the kids out several times a week to parks and pools. Some of our public pools here are free. That'll do for exercise this summer, I suppose.

The hardest thing for me is coming up with healthy, quick fixin' lunches. I'm tired of macaroni and cheese. LOL

Hi gang!

Deena- still praying here!

Prairie Home- congratulations and God's blessings on your new little granddaughter!! That is so great! I'll be praying that your trip works out! It sounds like you also had a nice visit with your mom as well as a good reunion.

Dalynn- you go with the WOW-ing!! Can you make wraps for lunch or soups packed with veggies for something different? Maybe put a roast in the crockpot one day and shred it to make BBQ sands or burrito filling? I too get tired of mac and cheese and/or sandwiches for lunch. During the summer here there is a free lunch program at the park- so the boys get to try "school food". It is a well-balanced meal (if not the healthiest!!) for the most part, and the kids like to go and then play a bit. Yesterday was a crispito, corn on the cob, a little cup of fresh strawberries, an apple, a small package of graham crackers, and a choice of white or choc milk. Today it is a chicken sandwich, peaches, carrots and milk. It certainly helps put variety in their summer lunch!!

Off to get busy. Drink your water and kiss your kids!

I have officially hit a serious plateau. I keep telling myself that it isn't about loosing weight. It is about becoming healthy. As I start to eat better then my weight will naturally fall off. BUT!!!! I still can't help but to want to see the pounds drop.LOL
I have an appointment tomorrow. It isn't with my doctor though. She can't see me for another month. My lower intestines have been hurting again. Not at all like they did before and I am not bleeding this time, but it is uncomfortable enough for me to cringe from time to time. I have a feeling they are going to limit the type of food I can eat again. Perhaps this is a good thing.
I am still doing great in the water and kiss department!:p

I'm sure it wouldn't wow anybody HERE, but they're used to hamburger helper and take-out. And, the answer to that last question is the golden one - they'll be here until they find a place. They estimate 2-3 weeks.... (They've been here 1 at this point.)

MT3 - Yes, when we go grocery shopping I plan to get together some things for wraps and other similar items that I can make ahead of time and stick in the freezer. I'm going to do this for breakfast, too, since it's really the only alternative I can find to getting up and COOKING, which I don't want to do.

Anyway. I've just realized that this is 'my week' and that explains my moods and diet yesterday, and the fact that I couldn't get out of bed today. LOL (And maybe some of the weight gain?)

*sigh* One can dream, can't she? ;)

MT3, I really like the "personal trainer" aspect of these weekly threads you post. You always take time to think about our personal lives, it seems, and pray for us (and we for each other) and encourage us and then later check up on us to see how we're doing--not just weight-wise.

DaLynn has started a competition group, which I also joined, in which we state, either to her or openly, our weight and a four-month goal. Thanks in large part to you and this weekly group, my starting weight there is actually about 20 lbs less than it was when I joined your group! 'Just wanted to stop by one more time this week and say I'm glad for both groups. I can use all the prayer, encouragement, nagging, *smile* and competition I can get!

How are your kiddos enjoying their lunch program? I like pickles, too, and I'm one of the few women in this world, like Sarah of old, who would probably be tickled to find out I was pregnant even in my old age!

Near the end of the month, I hope to be making a trip, with the Lord's help and with you-all's prayers, to Florida. My new granddaughter has been calling for me. *smile*

See you next week, and thanks again!
